Former TETRACOM client Silexica acquired by Xilinx

Following comprehensive research activities within the German UMIC Excellence Cluster, Silexica has been founded at RWTH in 2014 by Maximilian Odendahl, Johannes Emigholz, Dr. Weihua Sheng, Prof. Jeronimo Castrillon and Prof. Rainer Leupers.

First seed funding has been provided via the BMBF EXIST program, and early technology adopters from industry included Huawei and Samsung. Silexica has also been supported by the European Commission via the TETRACOM FP7 project (the predecessor of TETRAMAX) as well as the H2020 EIC accelerator program.

The company has since then acquired around US$28 Mio. in total from international investors and became a leading provider of C/C++ programming and analysis tool for multicore and FPGA System-on-Chip architectures. On June 10, 2021 Silexica´s acquisition by Xilinx, the market leader in programmable logic ICs, has been announced.
