TECHMO collaborating in the 1800HELPME-project

The 1800 HELP ME project is a collaboration between Innovate Australia, an AI company, Techmo and The Centre for Social Impact Swinburne at Swinburne University.

It is designed to harness the latest developments in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) and Interactive Voice Response (IVR) to greatly improve public access to existing personal crisis and suicide prevention related services.

  1. Answer a call after the first ring.
  2. Greet.
  3. Engage.
  4. Listen.
  5. Assess.
  6. Empower (by providing choices).
  7. Assure.
  8. Soft Transfer (without putting on hold) to one of the existing services.
  9. Follow up.
  10. Answer future inquiries as the same ‘person’, as in previous contact(s) if requested by the caller.
