NanoCycler HS Power Optimization of Storage Devices

NplusT’s new product called NanoCycler HS is an essential tool supporting power optimization of the management algorithms. NanoCycler HS embeds the HS-CHAR technology, result of a technology transfer from PCB Design, Hungary. The project was supported by TETRAMAX Technology Transfer (TTX) project.

The need for semiconductor based storage is growing exponentially, driven by datacenters, IoT, autonomous drive and other applications where computing power and data storage are the key requirements.

The latest generation of storage devices use non-volatile memory technologies, mostly NAND. Other emerging technologies are also gaining space. As these devices contain billions or even trillions of memory cells, and the interface speed is also increasing fast, the applications become power-hungry and the reduction is an essential requirement. Power optimization, implemented in the memory management algorithms, help to lower the average power consumption while maintaining performance and reliability.
